Description
Rivals Long-Tube Shotgun Microphones
Though only approximately 9.2″ long, the BP4073 offers the directivity of microphones up to 50% longer than it. This is accomplished through the use of a special Audio-Technica design that grants the BP4073’s interference tube a narrow acceptance angle.
Broadcast-Quality Sound
The BP4073 was built to produce broadcast-quality sound. Its direct-coupled balanced output provides clean signal even in high-output conditions; the balanced topology also allows longer cable runs than typical unbalanced camera-mount mics afford.
The supercardioid polar pattern yields focused on-axis directionality with maximum rear-entry sound rejection. Its low self-noise of 13 dBA and highly sensitive condenser element communicate detailed audio unburdened by the hiss that plagues many low-cost microphones.
Customizable Tone
Activate the 80 Hz low-cut filter to reduce low-frequency noise from common sources such as air conditioners and traffic. Switch on the -10 dB pad to attenuate the input level when loud sound sources threaten to distort your recording.
Phantom Powered
Thanks to its 3-pin XLR output and 48 VDC phantom powering, the BP4073 is compatible with a variety of handheld audio recorders, field recorders, and mixer adapters, as well as built-in preamps on many camcorders and cinema cameras.
Ideal for Boompole Mounting
The BP4073 includes a mic clip for easy placement on a mic stand or boompole. Alternatively, mount the BP4073 in the Audio-Technica AT8415 shockmount (available separately) to impede the transfer of vibrations between your boompole and the mic. The BP4073 also includes two rubber O-rings that expand the microphone’s diameter to fit the larger mic holders found on many high-end cameras.
