Description
The volume control unit is designed to support 12 W and 36 W loudspeaker loads and it has 9 attenuation steps and 2 “Off” positions. Each attenuation step is of 3 dB. The markings around the rotary knob indicate the steps and the “Off” position. The volume control unit can be used in applications where sound from`the loudspeaker needs to be controlled locally, typically for non-EVAC applications like general or live announcements,automated messages and background music.
The volume control unit consists of an autotransformer and a rotary switch. The rotary switch has 12 positions, 9 attenuation steps and 2 “Off”positions.The volume control unit is supplied with an ABS back
box, which can be installed either on a wall or flushmounted to a wall.
The ABS back box has screw holes which can be used for mounting the box on a wall. The unit can also be mounted on a standard 3×3 inch electrical box instead of on an ABS back box. This can be done by pulling the ABS knob and the top plate. The phoenix connectors on the PCBA used to connect the amplifier ( input ) and loudspeaker ( output ).
The volume control unit is supplied with an ABS back box facilitated with knockouts to route the cable from the amplifier and to the loudspeakers. The volume control unit can be installed either on a wall or flushmounted to a wall.The volume control unit is available in 12 W and 36 W versions.
