Product Description
Compact, powerful and easy to use – a column PA remains the perfect companion for DJs and smaller bands. The LD Systems MAUI Series represents this all-in-one concept in every detail and offers an unrivalled PA package in terms of sound, design, technology and handling. Set it up, plug it in, and you’re all set!
This applies in particular to the MAUI G3 MIX versions, which feature integrated digital 6-channel mixers. All components are integrated and perfectly matched: mixer, effects, dynamics processing, DSP controller, power amplifiers, and speakers. Wireless remote control via a free MAUI app (available on iOS or Android smartphones and tablets) is also included.
The MAUI 28 G3 MIX delivers a huge, powerful, and precise sound with 1,030 W RMS power (2,060 W peak). It is suitable for various applications, for example as a main PA for singer-songwriters and small bands, a sound system for mobile DJs and formations, or a PA system at weddings, corporate events, and more.
The built-in 6-channel mixer adjusts to the user's preferences through the Easy and Expert Modes. Users can choose between intuitive 3-band EQs or more advanced 5-way full parametric control. A comprehensive effects section provides the full range of reverb, delay and dynamics processing options. Users can wirelessly control all mixer and effects settings through the app.
For stereo applications, two MAUI 28 G3 MIX units can be linked via SysLink®. In this setting, twice the number of mixer channels are available, and with the REMOTE button, all channels can even be controlled from one system.
With its sleek and elegant design, the MAUI 28 G3 MIX looks extremely appealing. The two aluminium column elements sit at the front edge of the subwoofer, further enhancing the seamless visual impression. The columns are equipped with 12 x 3.5'' midrange drivers and 2 x 1'' tweeters, providing an even sound distribution with constant horizontal dispersion in combination with the innovative phase plug design. In addition, the BEM-optimised waveguide – in front of the tweeters – carries the high frequencies right to the back of the audience areas.
The LD Systems engineers also took great care with the crossover filter between midrange and tweeter speakers. The aim was to reduce harmonic distortion and interference to make the sound even more transparent, vibrant and powerful. The result speaks for itself: a highly precise reproduction of vocals and instruments across the entire 120° x 30° dispersion field. The MAUI 28 G3 MIX columns are designed as cardioid speakers. This allows for controlled low mids at the front, and up to 18 dB of attenuation at the rear, resulting in a clean stage sound.
Equipped with a single 12'' woofer and four bass reflex ports, the MAUI 28 G3 MIX subwoofer delivers a clear, tight and punchy low end down to 37 Hz. By using a second subwoofer, the bass response can also be increased by up to 6 dB, and it can also be driven in cardioid configuration at the push of a button (Cardioid preset). In addition, the subwoofer’s ultra-durable polyurea coating easily withstands even the toughest demands of life on the road.
The MAUI 28 G3 MIX is a real sound machine, yet will impress solo entertainers, singer/songwriters or small bands daily with its smart features. Transport is as easy as usual, while the hidden multi-pin connections between the elements provide increased stability during assembly. There’s nothing that can knock the MAUI off its feet so easily...
Controlled sound dispersion
The column’s passive cardioid design is a unique feature of the MAUI® G3.
Thanks to its exclusive design, the column offers true cardioid dispersion characteristics and provides an attenuation of 18 dB towards the rear.
Bass boost and cardioid set-up | “Follower” subwoofer
Simply place the additional subwoofer as a “FOLLOWER” subwoofer next to your “MAIN” system pointing towards the audience to amplify the bass response by +6 dB. You want to create a cardioid subwoofer set-up? No problem. Simply rotate the subwoofer 180° and activate the cardioid setting on the back of the subwoofer. A lower bass level of -15 dB towards the rear lets you greatly reduce the risk of feedback, listening fatigue, and phase cancellations.
The subwoofer uses automatic column detection and automatically activates “FOLLOWER” mode when the column is removed and adjusts the DSP settings accordingly.
Integrated mixer
You no longer need a mixer with the MAUI® G3 Mix versions. The digital six-channel mixer offers you a wide range of options thanks to mic / Hi-Z / line inputs. This means that you can connect microphones, guitars, basses, keyboards, and various players directly and mix and filter the signals. The number of analogue inputs available is doubled by connecting two MAUI® G3 MIX systems via SysLink® to create a stereo set-up. Of course, direct streaming via Bluetooth® 5.0 is also available.
App control
Remote control your mix! Get all the settings available to you for the MAUI® G3 MIX on your smartphone or tablet. The user-friendly display of the MAUI® G3 MIX app lets you have your mix under control at all times.
Easy mode is perfect for a fast start: with preconfigured presets and simple customisation options, you can get started straight away. If you want to delve deeper into your sound, Expert mode offers advanced functions, from detailed filtering to the precise control of attack, and a compressor for each channel.
Deep bass
Even when you crank the MAUI® G3 all the way up, the built-in DynX® DSP (Gen. 2) delivers distortion-free, clean, and powerful sound with deep bass at maximum volume – the series is ready for your next gig.
MAUI® 28 G3: 2060 W peak power, 127 dB max. SPL, and up to 37 Hz
MAUI® 11 G3: 1460 W peak power, 125 dB max. SPL, and up to 39 Hz
Full-coverage sound experience
Thanks to the line array arrangement and the integrated waveguides on the mid-range speakers, the so-called phase plugs, the MAUI® G3 offers a very wide and constant horizontal dispersion of 120°. The new waveguide offers a narrow and precise vertical dispersion of 30°. This ensures that the high frequencies reach the front row of your audience just as effectively as the back of the venue.
